A Night's Rain - Poem

A Night's Rain

It's over.
Only the rhythmical tapping on
rooftops now; disturbed by
a lonesome dog's occasional bark.

An unknown bird chirps and
I'm checked on by little bats
that peep beneath the eaves.

Firflies come amid moonlit trees..
But, where did they go?
-Now that it is all over.

I feel like asking how long it has been
raining like this when all are asleep.

Well, an occasional flashing of light
above the hills reminds me that spirits
could be still watching me and that like
others, I must go back to sleep.
